World's largest 3D printer for ceramics will be installed at Alumina Systems
Premiere at the fair Formnext in Frankfurt: The world‘s largest printer for ceramic 3D was presented to the public for the first time. In 2020, this 3D printer will be installed at Alumina Systems in Redwitz / R.. „On the one hand, we are significantly expanding our capacity for ceramic 3D printing,“ emphasized Dr. med. Holger Wampers (right), managing partner of Alumina Systems GmbH at the fair. Dr. Wampers added: „On the other hand, with this printer, we will be able to produce dense ceramic parts up to a dimension of 500 x 500 x 250 mm (sintered).“ At the Alumina Systems booth, Dr. Ing. Wampers and Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Freihart presented the latest 3D printed ceramics products. Visitors to the booth were particularly interested in the displayed gas distributor ring, which is used in the coating of wafers (computer chips). 2018 this product was awarded the „Best Component Award“. The fair formnext in Frankfurt am Main is an international trade fair for additive manufacturing technologies as well as their upstream and downstream processes. Around 600 exhibitors from all over the world present their products and services on around 40,000 square meters. With around 30,000 trade visitors, Formnext is one of the largest trade fairs in this field worldwide.
