What advantages does the material ceramic offer? How are composite components made of ceramic and metal? These questions were the focus of an excursion by the Technical University of Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm in the Industrial Park Redwitz. A group of 44 students from the Faculty of Materials Engineering headed by Professor Dr.-Ing. Hannes Kühl (10th from the right) showed the production of catalysts at Johnson Matthey. Dipl.-Ing. Norbert Müller (pictured right), marketing director Alumina Systems, introduced the future process to the production process of the products - i.a. Vacuum current feedthroughs, vacuum insulators, laser tubes, sensor systems - from mass preparation to the soldering process.
