Again Among the TOP 100 Most Innovative Companies

Alumina Systems GmbH was again awarded the TOP 100 seal for its above-average innovative strength. Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Holger Wampers will receive the award from science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar in Augsburg on June 23. The medium-sized company from Redwitz/R. is one of Germany's top innovators for the third time. The coveted TOP100 seal was already awarded to Alumina Systems GmbH in 2017 and 2019.
Since 1993, the TOP 100 seal has been awarded annually to the most innovative medium-sized German companies. The competition is based on a scientific selection process. On behalf of compamedia, the organizer of the comparison, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and his team Alumina Systems GmbH based on more than 100 criteria from five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success. It is particularly important whether the innovations of a company are just a product of chance or whether they are planned systematically and can therefore be repeated in the future.
Managing Director Dr. Wampers says: “We have completely rebuilt Alumina Systems over the past few years. Today there are twelve product families in our portfolio. We manufacture components for the energy transition as well as for use in satellites.” In addition, the level of integration has steadily increased over the years. “Our customers attest to our high level of innovation and flexibility. That's why we've gained many new regular customers in recent years," explained the managing partner, Dr. Holger Wampers, and adds: "At the same time, we have further expanded our production capacities and our workforce. Last year we broke the 100 mark in terms of the number of employees at the Redwitz site.”
The roots of the Upper Franconian TOP 100 company go back to the ceramics division of Siemens AG. Today, Alumina Systems manufactures a large number of ceramic-metal composite components at two locations (Redwitz/R. and Hradec Králové/CZ) with a total of around 180 employees. The products of Alumina Systems are used, for example, in space technology, sensor technology, X-ray technology and laser technology.
