Ralph Potzinger and Wolfgang Jansen assume responsibility for the core ceramics business, while Dr. Holger Wampers focuses on the further development of the CeraSalt® battery division
Alumina Systems is realigning its management team, thereby strengthening both its operational leadership and its future-oriented business. Following an economically challenging year in 2025, the Upper Franconian specialist in technical ceramics and vacuum-tight metal-ceramic composite components is currently recording historically high order intake. The new management structure will intensify strategic cooperation with Austria’s SWACRIT and create additional room to manoeuvre for sustainable growth.
As resolved at the shareholders’ meeting held on 27 August 2026, Dipl.-Ing. Ralph Potzinger, MBA, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the core ceramics business; Wolfgang Jansen, a long-standing executive, will also join the management team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dr.-Ing. Holger Wampers will remain Managing Director and CEO of the CeraSalt® battery division, whose strategic development will be his primary focus going forward.
“2025 was a year of many challenges for Alumina Systems. It is therefore even more encouraging to see the development we are now experiencing in 2026. Our order books are full; the historically high order intake demonstrates the considerable potential of this company,” says Ralph Potzinger. “The task now is to seize these opportunities, further strengthen our operational performance and create the necessary room for investment and sustainable growth at our two sites in Redwitz an der Rodach and Hradec Králové.”
Industrial experience and continuity in the new management team
With Ralph Potzinger, an experienced Austrian industrial manager is assuming responsibility for Alumina Systems’s core ceramics business. A materials scientist by training, he has many years of leadership experience as CEO, CRO, Head of Business Development, Head of Sales and Head of Quality Management in the manufacturing industry. With Wolfgang Jansen, the shareholders appoint a long-standing executive to the management team. As a master industrial mechanic, he has to date been responsible for operations management and human resources and, as COO of the core ceramics business, will in future be responsible for operational management.
After 17 years of contributing to Alumina’s successful corporate development, Dr.-Ing. Holger Wampers will, within the management team, focus primarily on the strategic and technological development of CeraSalt®.
“The new structure enables us to give both the core business and the battery division the attention they each require,” says Dr. Christian Höllerschmid, SWACRIT Technologies AG, the new Chairman of the Advisory Board. “Alumina is facing significant opportunities. Expanding the management team is therefore a logical step in the company’s next phase of development. We will continue to pursue consistently the vision of creating a unique high-technology company by combining the expertise of Austria’s SWACRIT as a manufacturer of metal-technical composite assemblies, on the one hand, with Alumina’s metal-ceramic composite expertise, on the other.”
Clear commitment to Redwitz and to employees
By realigning the management team, the shareholders’ meeting is making an express commitment to Alumina Systems’s sites, to the company’s innovative strength and to the employees whose contribution is exceptional.
“We intend to invest in Alumina Systems’s future, realise market-side as well as procurement-side synergies with SWACRIT systems, and further develop the company together with our employees,” emphasize the new Managing Directors. “The Redwitz an der Rodach site has considerable technological know-how and a highly qualified workforce. We will continue to build on this foundation.
