O’zapft is – Dr. Holger Wampers (left), CEO of Alumina Systems GmbH, tapped the first keg of beer with just two strokes. This beer tapping also marked the opening of the first Oktoberfest at Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm, Faculty of Materials Engineering.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hannes Kühl (right in the picture) was delighted that Alumina Systems GmbH supported the first Oktoberfest of the Faculty of Materials Engineering on October 5. “Thank you very much for the donation of 200 liters of free beer,” said Prof. Kühl. The Oktoberfest was the prelude to closer cooperation between the university and Alumina Systems in the future, said Prof. Kühl. The “Alumina Systems Lecture Hall” will be inaugurated at the end of November 2023. The company will also soon have its own showcase in which selected Alumina Systems products will be on display.

Dr. Holger Wampers underlined the importance of the collaboration between Nuremberg Institute of Technology and Alumina Systems. “We are a very innovative and expanding company. In this respect, we are very interested in attracting graduates to our company,” emphasized Dr. Wampers. In addition, Alumina Systems offers the possibility of a dual study program, internships and collaboration on Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
